Halloween is the time for all this spooky , so grab a few wooden spoons and create a little spookiness yourself! These DIY spooky spoons are so easy to make, and kids will love crafting them and giving them their own spooky spin.

Take a peek below at how you can get started making your own. They are sure to get you into the spirit of all things spooky!

Here are the supplies you will need:

Wooden spoons (Walmart sells packages of 4 for around $1)
Assorted craft paints (White and green are perfect)
Black magic marker
Googly eyes
Craft glue

Directions:

First, let’s make the ghost:
1. Begin by applying two coats of white paint to the spoon.

2. Once the paint dries, go ahead and glue on a pair of googly eyes. It doesn’t matter what side you glue them on.

3. Use your magic marker to create a face. For ours, we did a simple polka dot mouth. You can create whichever face features you wish.
4. Once your ink is dry, your ghost is ready to be used!

Now, let’s make our monster:

1. Begin by applying two coats of green paint to the spoon. We used one of the flat top spoons that was in our selection.

2. Once the paint dries, go ahead and glue on a pair of googly eyes. It doesn’t matter what side you glue them on.

3. Use your magic marker to create a face. For ours, we did a stitch design mouth. You can create whichever face features you wish to make your monster your own creation. We also added some lines for hair at the top.
4. Once your ink is dry, your monster is ready to be used!

These spooky spoons are great to use for puppets, or to craft at Halloween parties. They are frugal to make, fun and enjoyable, and a great way to really get into the spookiness of the Halloween season. Give them a try!
